”Everything in one box”

The Compacta® Gearmotor makes the system designer’s job easier because the motor, gearbox, and limit switches are all in one compact package.  Instead of trying to find the gearbox, motor and limit switches separately, the designer can choose a single “box” with the exact configuration he needs. 

Easy to Control

In addition to Limit Switches, the Compacta® is available with built-in motor contactors, encoder,  feedback potentiometer and more.  By choosing the Compacta® with the right options the external controls can be greatly simplified.  The Version 1 Limit Switch option, for example, has built-in Motor Contactors which stop the motor when the preset limits are reached.  Essentially, it’s a self-contained motor/gearbox/control system which requires only external pushbuttons to operate.  Limit switches are field-adjustable and are available in many resolutions, ranging from 90° to 400 turns, and are especially well-suited for reciprocal motion (back-and-forth) applications.  For applications requiring additional stopping points, our Electronic Switching Apparatus (ESA) allows up to 10 intermediate steps to be programmed.  This is especially useful in applications requiring indexing or incremental movements. 

Wide range of sizes, speeds and options

The designer can choose from 5 different models of Compacta® with torque ratings from 100 in-lbs to 14,000 in-lbs (0.2hp to 2.6hp).  A number of different motors are available, including inverter-rated 3-phase AC, single-phase or 24VDC.  Each model is available in 7 to 13 different gear ratios.

Mounting

These unique gearmotors are rectangular in shape and fit in places ordinary gearmotors can’t. The hollow-shaft design allows them to be mounted directly onto the shaft of the equipment to be driven or used with a through-going shaft to drive two pulleys simultaneously.  The Compacta® Gearmotor has threaded mounting holes on both faces of the gearmotor, simplifying installation.  It can be mounted in any orientation without affecting performance.

Durability

Our unique Internal Limit Switches eliminate the need for external limit switches and the associated cabling.  The finished system is more robust because the Limit Switches are protected from dirt, damage and misalignment.
